First Kill Wiki

Made vampires would love to see their reflection in a mirror, be able to spend as much time in daylight as they'd like to, eat human food and not get ill. But you and me, we woke up like this. I'm begging you, free your mind, stop wishing to be something you'll never be and appreciate what you are.
Elinor about vampires in First Fight

A vampire is an immortal monster that relies on the consumption of blood to survive. The most common form of vampires those which are born human and transitioned into a vampire by their progenitor, a Legacy vampire. They are impervious to aging and hard to detect due to their human appearance and atypical movements, often blending with society unlike their other monster counterparts.

History[]

Before the days of recorded history, Lilith and her sister Eve frolicked in the Garden of Eden, where they admired a beautiful peach tree that was ripe with fruit. An emerald serpent slithered down from the top branch. Eve, frightened, begged the serpent not to bite her, while Lilith embraced the bite. God, disappointed by Eve's cowardice, made her a human. The Queen Snake, known as the Emerald Malkia, bit Lilith and made her into the first vampire.

Creation[]

Legacies[]

All Legacy vampires are descendants of Lilith, having been born with their vampire gene. They require blood capsules to stay alive and keep their thirst at bay, but must complete their vampiric transformation with their first kill. By draining all of the blood from a human prey, they become the strongest versions of themselves, no longer ruled solely by hunger or weakened by symptoms. After their first kill, a Legacy must later bitten by the Malkia to complete their ceremonial induction into vampire society. Failure to make this first kill results in uncontrollable blood thirst, crying blood, shakes, headaches, sweating, and an inability to focus, until the vampire loses complete control. Legacy vampires are extremely rare.

Made[]

A Legacy vampire can turn a human into a vampire through a single bite, though with notably less powers than a Legacy. Juliette accidentally made a fatally wounded Theseus Burns while trying to drain him so he could die with dignity. Theo awakened with no memory of his transformation and returned home, unaware of his new status. He became overwhelmed with confusion, pain, anger, and bloodlust, even biting at his family while his eyes wept blood. His gums were raw and his fangs constantly showing. He broke free from his restraints and went in search of his creator, unable to focus on anything else. Juliette realized what she had done and explained to the Burns family how all of his senses are heightened. She knew he wouldn't be at peace until he drank the blood of the one who made him. She offered her arm and he drank willingly. The made are the most common vampires found, and ultimately killed by, Monster Hunters.

Community[]

Very little is known about the made vampire community. Some do attempt to blend in with human society as a way to avoid detection from Monster hunters. More mature vampires understand the need for discretion with their feedings and often take humans who are willing to serve as suppliers. They also dispose of their victims in a discreet or non-suspicious manner. Young vampires have a difficult time controlling their thirst, and as such, are more reckless. Vampires also tend to stay away from other monsters, such as ghouls, by actively avoiding their hot-spots like cemeteries, lest the animalistic nature of other monsters draw attention to them. Moreover, seeing more than one type of monster in the immediate vicinity of one another is rare, something Apollo and Theo pointed out after killing a made vampire.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Durability
  • Enhanced Healing
  • Enhanced Speed: Vampires can move so fast they become a blur, though it was only displayed by Elinor.
  • Paralyzing Blood
  • Enhanced Strength
  • Fangs: The canines of a vampires teeth elongate when they are hungry, angry, or startled. These teeth, called fangs, can cut through human flesh to drain blood from their prey.
  • Immortality: Vampires are frozen at the age in which they are turned, never growing or evolving from the time of their transformation. They are also immune to illnesses, disease, and conventional methods of death, such as falling from great heights.

Weaknesses[]

101 Vampire Disintegrates
  • Wood: Vampires can be killed or detained by the usage of wood that has either been sharpened into a pointed stake or made into bullets, spears, or arrows. By driving the object through the creatures chest cavity and penetrating the heart, the vampire will die in a cloud of fiery ash and dust. A monster hunter will often use specially crafted stakes the help them gain the momentum needed to accomplish such a feat. Stabbing a vampire with a wooden object in a non-fatal location will temporarily detain them.
  • Silver: The easiest way to identify a vampire is through their contact with pure silver. The element burns their skin and leaves a long-lasting burn mark in whichever shape the object takes. The Burns family often use silver chains to detain vampires as it weakens their abilities and keeps them from breaking free.
  • Hunger: If a vampire doesn't feed, they feel increasingly hungry which affects their impulsiveness. Feeding from someone affected by drugs also affects the vampire.
  • Invitation: Vampires are forbidden from entering a privately owned human residence without invitation from one of its occupants. Once the vampire has been invited in, there are no known way to undo the invitation. Juliette Fairmont required the invitation of Calliope Burns to enter her home, but was not affected when Cal's father Jack tried to forbid her from entering.
  • Sunlight:
  • Reflections: A made vampire cannot see their reflection in any surface, including a mirror or photographs.
  • Human food: Vampires cannot tolerate the consumption of human food, as it makes them violently ill and disgusts them. Only Legacy vampires can tolerate the ingestion, though with some difficulty.
