Talia Burns is a main character in the first season of the Netflix original series, First Kill. She is portrayed by Aubin Wise.
Talia is the mother of the Burns family and is an experienced Monster Hunter in her own right.
Biography[]
Background[]
Talia started a relationship with Jack when he lost his previous partner to a monster attack. She then also became the step-mother of Theo.
Her and Jack got married and had two children together, Apollo and Calliope.
They travel together as a family, moving from one area to the next where the Guild send them. On each location they get new identities. She takes care of the kids and cooking while Jack takes on longer missions that requires him to travel.
Talia was there for Calliope's first attempt at her first kill, which she failed when the monster impersonated Talia.
While we don't see her arm tattoo, she is clearly a skilled fighter and prefers fighting with two knives.

Physical Appearance[]
Talia has long, black hair and brown eyes. Like the rest of the hunters, she often wears silver jewlery.
Talia is a Guild hunter. She is a strong and capable fighter, defeating a grown legacy vampire in hand-to-hand combat and beheading a Shambler. Her hunter tattoos, show 4 filled lines (40 kills)[1].
Personality[]
Talia is a serious, takes no-bullshit kind of person. She doesn't shy away from difficult conversations and confronts any injustice she encounters. While harsh and direct, she is also very empathetic and understanding towards her family and children.

Talia may not admit it, but she has a soft spot for her children. When Cal asks for more time in school, despite her being angry with her, she agrees. In the last episodes, she even goes against her husband and the guild to protect Theo.
Jack[]
In the beginning of Season 1 their relationship seems to be happy and loving. They have a great deal of trust in each other and always listen to one another. When she lets Jules go, Jack is upset but doesn't go against her.
After Theo turns, their relationship is strained and its not known what happens after she betrays the Guild.
Juliette[]
At first, Talia only sees Jules as a monster. After she finds out she saved her daughter's life, she does soften to the point of not attacking her on sight to respect Calliope's feelings. She does seem to understand that Juliette is different but still wants her out of hers and Cal's life.
The Franklins[]
We don't see Talia interact much with the Franklin family but after Mike & Sarah are killed she is quick to offer taking in Tess.
Since Talia was already suspicious of Margot after Calliope stakes Juliette. Talia puts on a fake smile when talking to Margot that disappears right as soon as she looks away. After talking to Oliver, she is even more disgusted by Margot for how she treats her son. They come to an understanding and decide to have a truce when both their daughters are at risk to the other family.
