Monster History[]

Counting 25 years from the start of the first season, the city was overrun with monsters. Its not know exactly w"hat happened, but its referenced several times;

  • The reason the Burns Family is in Savannah is to see why the monsters are back. In the first episode, Calliope asks her brother what they think of why that is, and she says "But 25 years since the Guild came through and cleaned up and now they're just back? Strange, right?". The Burns' first think that the Fairmonts are the reason but Oliver later implies that he and Carmen are the ones responsible.
    • Theseus replies that "Savannah's always tough to keep clean. All those battles, that bloodshed. Centuries of violence and bloodshed. The cemetery we're going to now dates back three centuries". The cemetery he's referencing is 'Colonial Park Cemetery', which is a cemetery for (amongst others) those who fought in the American Revolutionary War 1775-1783.
  • In Episode 2, the morgue attendendant Malcolm, when showing Ashley's corpse to Elinor he says "Its happening again. I saw bodies like this when I first started. Corpses ripped open, organs missing. You're too young to remember that Savannah."[1]
  • In Episode 6, Apollo is watching the news where the MAAMs are holding signs in protest outside of Lancaster Academy following the death of Noah. Bernice is interviewed and says "I remember what is was like. Afraid to leave our homes, then we got rid of them and.."[2]
  • When the Burns and Fairmont parents meet to discuss their children's involvement in Noah's death, Sebastian mentions in passing "25 years of a monster-free Savannah was good for us."[2] Later, he says that is becase the more monsters there are, the more monster hunters there are.
